Amalio Burguet was born in Catarroia, a small village near the sunny city of Valencia, Spain. Amalio developed the skills to make guitars at an early age. He spent several years working in different workshops near his hometown and he was soon captured by the magic of the six stringed instrument, The Spanish Guitar.
Tradition in Valencia had always been to make the best average guitars in the world. But Amalio was impressed by guitars coming out of one man workshops. So he took the best of both worlds. Amalio Burguet developed a guitar that could offer the high standards of a unique concert instrument and at the same time be affordable to students and concert artists. He used his knowledge from his musical background at the music conservatory, and worked out every single detail concerning the materials, temperature and humidity conditions and the method of construction for the best tone. Since he is in complete control of his workshop, Amalio introduces new improvements each day to make the guitars better and better.
Contrary to the other guitar makers he has never worked alone. At the beginning there were three people and now, ten years after it all began, there is a whole staff at the new workshop which he opened in 1994. Happily the original idea has been a wonderful success. Amalio Burguet's guitars have been universally accepted in the world markets.
