Dake Traphagen
Dake Traphagen is one of the finest American builders today. He has recently used a unique "carved top" construction for the past several years. I have known Dake for 15 years. His guitars have always had a sweetness to the sound. Now he has created a very loud guitar as well.
This particular instrument was made in 1993 with a normal top of cedar. The sound is clear for cedar with many characteristic sounds that remind one of spruce. The top has some small marks because it has "french polish" which is soft. Dake said that he could touch up the finish if one wanted it done. The back and sides are gorgeous light colored Brazilian with an golden color. It reminds me of an old Hauser I once had.
This guitar is really beautiful. It was originally made for Pepe Romero (whether he knew it or not) and is the best cedar Traphagen I have seen. You will love it
